AI literacy is a legal duty under Article 4

If your organisation uses AI in the EU, Article 4 of the AI Act already applies to you — whatever your systems are classified as.

It applies now

The duty has been enforceable since 2 February 2025 for providers and deployers of AI systems — it does not wait for the high-risk dates.

It is role-proportionate

Literacy must account for technical knowledge, experience, education, and the context each person works in — a one-size course does not satisfy it.

It must be demonstrable

Training that is not recorded is hard to evidence. Completions with dated, versioned records are what turn the duty into something you can show.
